Engagement Party Planning - 8 weeks to go !

Hello ladies...

When i last posted it was all about how M & i got engaged, I mentioned that our engagement party is coming up & i thought it would interesting to post a weekly update of all the things we've done in preparation (along with a huge list of all the things left to do). I am a HUGE fan of writing lists ! Seriously, i dont think i could get through life without list writing, is that bad ?

Anyway, this week our main accomplishment was booking the venue ! It's a hall not too far from home that was recently renovated. We inspected it on Thursday morning & it's perfect.

It has a big stage area up one end where we want to have the DJ & lights set up, plenty of open space infront of that for a dance floor, lots of room towards the back of the hall near the bar area & decent sized but well hidden kitchen to put all the drinks & nibbles in !

I feel so relieved that this is booked & sorted ! All the other details that go along with it (decorations, food, drinks, making signage, flowers etc.) are going to be so much fun ! I am so looking forward to it !

Some of the other things we got done this week are:

- Printed invites
- Made 70+ envelopes for the invites to go in
- Posted most of the invites
- Bought clear balloons for foyer entrance
- Bought bottled water

Envelope construction setup

 Finished product !

Some of the things we had already done were:

- Bought all soft drink at the new years sale
- Bought fairy lights for inside / outside
- Designed an invite
- Paid for the venue hire
- Set up RSVP & Budget spreadsheets

So there you go !
There are still 8 weeks to go before the weekend of the party, but i'm trying to be organised so marking these things off my list makes me happy ! Tomorrow & next week we plan on doing a few more things too !

I will update you in next weeks post

Until then
x

  1. This is SUCH a great idea! I would never have thought of making my own envelopes, you're so clever haha! I'm actually going to start making my own now, they look so pretty and seem so easy to make!

  4. How exciting!! It must be the most amazing feeling to be able to tick all this stuff off the list. I know I'm a list maker too and even small projects feel good when ticked off let alone planning something like an engagement party or wedding! haha.
Wishing you all the very best! :)
